TATTOO DOCTOR™ FACT SHEET & HEALING GUIDE

 WHY TATTOO DOCTOR™ IS BETTER

Tattoo Doctor™ is specifically formulated for tattoo healing with key advantages over generic ointments:

  • Petroleum Jelly Base: Locks in moisture without suffocating the skin, unlike heavy-duty balms or creams that can clog pores.

  • Vitamin E & Cocoa Butter: Naturally promotes skin regeneration and soothes irritation.

  • Fragrance-Free & Dye-Free: Reduces allergic reactions compared to scented lotions or drugstore ointments.

  • Artist-Approved Formula: Developed by professionals for safe healing and color retention.

 WHAT SOAP TO USE

Recommended Soaps (Fragrance-Free & Antibacterial):

  • Dr. Bronner’s Baby Unscented

  • Dial Gold Antibacterial

  • H2Ocean Blue Green Foam Soap

  • Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

  • Tattoo-specific soaps like Tattoo Goo® Deep Cleansing Soap

Avoid these:

  • Scented body washes or bar soaps (e.g. Dove, Irish Spring)

  • Exfoliating scrubs or loofahs

  • Harsh antibacterial soaps with alcohol

 SHOWERING RULES

  • You can shower 4–6 hours after getting tattooed.

  • DO NOT soak the tattoo (no baths, hot tubs, swimming pools, or lakes for 2–3 weeks).

  • Let lukewarm water gently run over the area.

  • Pat dry with a clean towel — never rub.

 HEALING STAGES

Day 1–3:

  • Tattoo will ooze plasma and ink — this is normal.

  • Keep clean and apply a thin layer of Tattoo Doctor 2–3x daily.

Day 4–7:

  • Tattoo begins to scab and flake.

  • Do NOT pick or scratch — let scabs fall off naturally.

  • Keep applying ointment as directed.

Day 8–14:

  • Peeling continues, tattoo may look dull or hazy — that’s part of the dermal healing.

  • Switch to Tattoo Doctor or unscented lotion as needed to stay moisturized.

Week 3–4:

  • Skin fully closes, color begins to brighten.

  • Avoid direct sunlight or tanning.

  • A healed tattoo should look clear and vibrant.

Full epidermal healing: 2–4 weeks

Full deep skin recovery (dermal): Up to 8 weeks
